Christopher D. SmithChristopher D. Smith received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard University (Cambridge, MA) and his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.). A long-time resident of Florida, Mr. Smith also graduated from Pine View School in Sarasota. He is a member of the bars of Florida, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and is admitted to practice in the Middle, Southern and Northern Districts of Florida. Christopher is also certified in consumer bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification.

Christopher started his career with the international law firm of Dechert LLP in 2001, working as an associate in the securities law division.  He became a member of the Florida Bar in 2002, and returned to Florida in 2005 to open a small practice.  His practice areas include bankruptcy, civil litigation, personal injury, debt mitigation, estate planning, probate, guardianship and real estate.  Outside of work, Mr. Smith is a high school football official, an avid boater and golfer, Rays fan, and father of three.

Katherine AronKatherine Aron has been Mr. Smith’s legal assistant and office manager since 2007.  A native of northern Maine, she brings decades of experience in office management to the firm.  As a former owner of an advertising/PR firm specializing in event planning, she combines strong organizational skills and attention to detail with a genuine desire to provide the best in client service.   Away from work, her favorite activities are golf, cooking (and eating) good healthy food, Sunday dinners with children and granddaughters, reading, rooting for the Rays, and solving the NY Times Sunday crossword puzzles – in ink.  She has resided in Sarasota since 2000 with her husband, Ken.

Marci ReedyMarci Toomey graduated summa cum laude from Kaplan University, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies degree. Marci has worked in the legal field since 2007 focusing on bankruptcy law. She is a member of the Sarasota Young Professionals Group and is a Florida Registered Paralegal. She is a Florida native and in her free time likes to fish with her husband Mark and daughter Sage.

John BegganJohn G. Beggan received a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Missouri. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, FL. During law school, John worked in two different personal injury law firms and now, as a member of the Florida Bar, focuses his work on personal injury law. After living in Miami, Chicago, New Jersey, Toronto, Canada and Missouri in his lifetime, John is excited to call the west coast of Florida his home. He enjoys playing soccer and golf and going to the beach in his free time and remains a loyal fan to his Missouri Tigers.

Becky BrodkorbBecky Brodkorb graduated summa cum laude from Keiser University, receiving an Associate of Arts in Legal Studies degree, and a second degree in Criminal Justice, which earned magna cum laude honors. She has worked in the legal field since 2002, concentrating on real estate since 2003. Her focus has been mainly residential, but she has broad experience in the telecom/tower industry as well.

Somewhat of a rarity in Florida, Becky is a Sarasota native, so she is keenly aware of the history and uniqueness of our lovely Southwest Florida. Also, uncommonly in this era, Becky is one of 13 children, which has naturally prepared her to juggle many responsibilities and respond positively to different personalities. Away from work she likes to go camping with her 4 dogs (2 are rescues). Becky also spends a lot of time with her family and her many nieces and nephews, who, like Becky, are die-hard Tampa Bay fans and all enjoy going to Lightning, Bucs and Rays games.
